Using the canntaireachd for the Cill Chriosda, or Glengarry's March, provided by Roderick Cannon, I created a layout to visually recreate the sound of the music.
When a piper would traditionally perform this type of music, they often walk in a circle. The spiral of syllables overlaps, recreating the "wall of sound" associated with piping.
The syllables are presented in four different weights; the longest notes are the heaviest weight and the shortest notes and embellishments are in the lightest weight.
The multi-coloured version was inspired by colours of the Glengarry Campbell tartan.
For the black version I increased the transparency of the black ink for shorter notes.
Each was also printed on top of the sheet music for the tune, and on plain paper.
